MEETING APP COMPATIBILITY

Mac audio capture.
App checks underway.

Jotfin records microphone and system audio through macOS, without a meeting bot or an app-specific plug-in. Support for individual meeting apps has not yet been verified in end-to-end call tests.

APPS AWAITING CALL VERIFICATION

  • Microsoft TeamsNot yet verified
  • ZoomNot yet verified
  • Slack HuddlesNot yet verified
  • Google MeetNot yet verified
  • WebexNot yet verified
  • FaceTimeNot yet verified

The microphone + system audio option is intended to capture both sides of a call. The apps above are planned test cases; reliable recording and transcription with each one remain unverified.

Initial release: Apple silicon Macs with macOS 13 Ventura or later. Microphone and Screen Recording permissions are required to capture both sides. Real-call testing is required before app-specific support can be confirmed.

FROM CONVERSATION TO CLARITY

Everything you need.
A little less to keep in your head.

A thoughtful workspace for the meeting itself, and everything that comes after.

Capture both sides

Record your microphone, system audio, or both. Local live captions help you follow along as the conversation unfolds.

Make the notes your own

Write during the meeting, correct the transcript, rename speaker labels, and edit your summary. Keep your perspective beside the source.

Find the useful parts

Choose an optional AI summary for key points and action items. Timestamp links take you back to the transcript for context.

Pick up the thread

Search meeting titles, your notes, transcripts, and summaries. The detail you need is easier to find again.

Keep next steps moving

Track action items with owners and due dates. Prepare email, calendar, and task handoffs, then review them before taking the next step.

Take your work with you

Export Markdown or plain text, or send notes to an Obsidian vault. Saved meetings and exports stay accessible after your subscription ends.

A SIMPLE RHYTHM

Before, during, and after.
It all stays together.

01

Start the conversation.

Choose your audio source, press record, and stay in the room. Add a thought whenever you need to.

02

Give it a little clarity.

Review your local transcript and notes. Generate an AI summary when you choose, using your preferred provider or a compatible endpoint.

03

Leave with a next step.

Check the source, organize your action items, and bring the useful parts into the tools you already use.

LOCAL AT THE CORE

Your meeting.
Your Mac.
Your choice.

Good notes shouldn’t mean handing over every conversation.

Jotfin uses Whisper to transcribe audio locally on your Mac. Your recordings don’t need to travel to a cloud transcription service.

AI is optional and controlled by you. Automatic summaries start off. When you choose a cloud summary, reviewed transcript text and any notes you include are sent to your selected provider. API keys are stored in macOS Keychain. You choose the provider or endpoint, and any provider usage charges are separate.

Optional assistant sharing has its own permissions. Subscription verification uses a separate billing service and does not send your meeting content.

ROOM FOR BETTER MEETING NOTES

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT WONDER

A little more context.

Can I use Jotfin with Teams, Zoom, or Slack?

Compatibility with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack Huddles, Google Meet, Webex, and FaceTime has not yet been verified in real call tests. Jotfin implements microphone and Mac system audio recording, which makes these apps candidates for testing. That capture design alone does not confirm reliable recording and transcription with every app. Jotfin does not connect to their chat messages, workspaces, or meeting accounts. Real-call testing is required before app-specific support can be confirmed.

Does Jotfin need an internet connection?

After the speech model is downloaded, local recording and transcription run on your Mac. Internet access is needed for initial trial activation, periodic subscription verification, model downloads, and optional cloud AI summaries. Verified access can work offline for up to 72 hours, capped by your trial or paid-period end.

Do I need an AI provider account?

Only if you choose a cloud AI provider for optional summaries. Recording, local Whisper transcription, your own notes, search, and exports do not require an AI account. Summaries use your chosen provider or a compatible custom endpoint; provider usage charges are separate.

Which Macs is Jotfin being built for?

The initial release targets Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or later. Microphone permission is needed for microphone recording; macOS Screen Recording permission is needed for system audio. Final hardware and macOS compatibility checks are in progress.

What happens when my trial or subscription ends?

You can still read and edit saved meetings, retry transcription from retained audio, and export your work. Starting new recordings requires an active trial or subscription. A recording already in progress is not stopped when access expires.

Does Jotfin automatically send follow-ups?

Jotfin helps prepare drafts and handoffs. Email opens in your mail app, calendar handoffs export an importable file, and tasks can be copied or exported. You review and complete the next step in the destination tool.

How does the free trial work?

The 14-day trial begins when you choose Start free trial in the app. It doesn’t require a card and won’t charge automatically. If you subscribe during the trial, paid billing starts immediately. Jotfin Personal renews monthly until canceled.
